Turn on the Romance: Hotel Ideas for a Romantic Vacation
Looking to plan a romantic vacation to celebrate a honeymoon, anniversary, or maybe a vow renewal? I’ve compiled a list of ideas, with a range of budgets. Many of these hotels offer additional romance packages, vow renewal packages, or even a proposal package.
A beach vacation is the quintessential romantic escape, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. The gentle rhythm of waves, the warmth of the sun, and the endless horizon create an idyllic backdrop for reconnecting with your partner. From strolling hand-in-hand along pristine white sands to watching the sunset paint the sky in vibrant hues, a coastal getaway provides a chance to leave your worries behind and simply enjoy each other’s company.
For an unforgettable beach escape, consider the sun-drenched shores of Mexico, the vibrant islands of the Caribbean, and the breathtaking beauty of Hawaii. Each region offers a unique flavor of romance, ensuring every couple can find their ideal retreat.
Impression Isla Mujeres, by Secrets
Located on Isla Mujeres, this adults-only boutique hotel is sure to wow you! Once you land in Cancun you make your way to the marina where a catamaran is waiting to take you to the hotel. It’s about 25 minutes to Isla Mujeres. They have tropical-view rooms, an oceanfront room with a hot tub and hammock on the balcony, and a Presidential Suite with a private swim-out pool.
Impression Isla Mujeres has five restaurants, four bars, and a coffee shop. There’s also a four-story waterslide into the ocean!
Isla Mujeres has some of the most beautiful beaches and crystal-clear water. It would be an ideal place for a romantic getaway.
Jade Mountain Resort, St. Lucia
All of the suites at Jade Mountain have an infinity pool on the balcony except the Sky Whirlpool Suite. The Sky suite has a large tub for two. But the Galaxy, Sun, Moon, and Star suites have an infinity pool on the balcony. All rooms have amazing views of the mountains and ocean.
The resort has several restaurants but guests also have access to the sister hotel Anse Chastanet. The hotel has a spa. If you are adventurous head out for a hike in the Rainforest.
Secrets Cap Cana, Dominican Republic
One of the highest-rated resorts in the Dominican Republic, Secrets Cap Cana has lots of romance. They offer swim-out rooms, tropical views, and ocean views as well as Preferred Club options including a Bungalow Suite.
The resort has ten restaurants including a cafe and six bars. They offer nightly entertainment with theme nights. They also have extra romance packages that can be purchased. These additions are typically dinner on the beach or a couples massage.
El Dorado Casitas Royale, Mexico
El Dorado Casitas will always be one of my favorites for a romantic vacation. We have stayed here twice. Their honeymoon private pool swim-up casita is very nice. It has a jacuzzi tub inside and a private outdoor shower. You can step from your patio into your private pool.
Casitas is quiet and feels small, as each building has a small number of rooms with a pool and swim-up bar. But once you venture from your building you will see it’s a large property. You have access to the Royale section which has a more active vibe and more restaurants for you to try.
We booked dinner on the beach at this hotel to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary in 2017.
Marquis Los Cabos, Mexico
The Marquis is another adult-only, all-inclusive hotel, located in Los Cabos. They boast ocean-view rooms and oceanfront casitas with private plunge pools.
The hotel has a spa and four restaurants plus one at an additional cost. The Marquis boasts an extensive art collection by local artists hidden all over the resort. To elevate the romance they have packages that include a couples massage followed by a private dinner overlooking the Sea of Cortez.
Koa Kea Kauai, Hawaii
Koa Kea has been named one of the world’s most romantic hotels. It’s on the island of Kauai, so you need to plan to stay for a week or longer. Kauai has beaches, hiking, and lots of outdoor activities. Plan a visit to Waimea Canyon State Park.
The hotel has a spa for the days you want to relax after a hike. They offer Elopement Packages for intimate settings.
