Well, it’s 1 week and 1 day until I’m at the starting line of the Dallas Marathon! I’m excited and freaking out, just a little.
The forecast is a little scary. It’s Texas though, so it can change 10 times before then. I do need to prepare mentally for this forecast, just in case. Race Day is December 8!
Training this week:
Sunday: Gym day, 15 minutes on the treadmill plus abs and light weights
Monday: Rest day
Tuesday: 4 miles, 9:48 pace
Wednesday: 3 miles on the treadmill plus abs and lots of stretching
Thursday: 4 miles, 8:13 pace
Friday: Rest Day
Saturday: 9 miles, 9:00 pace. Had some awesome negative splits today. Fell in behind a group running 8:30’s the last 2 miles and it felt great!
It was a little cold at the start, but close to perfect weather. We had a very yummy breakfast afterward at Another Broken Egg. That omelet has bacon, cream cheese, chorizo and jack cheese in it. I asked if the cream cheese was fat free, I told the waiter to just lie to me! I took time to snap a few pictures this morning too.
What a beautiful sunrise!
This week is light running, so I’ll hot the gym a few times. On the agenda: stretching and more stretching, foam rolling, abs and light weights.
Going to try to eat my best this week, not eating anything I wouldn’t normally eat. Gotta make sure and drink my water too.
How was your Thanksgiving?
Did you race or have training runs this weekend?
Anyone done Christmas shopping already?
