Secrets St. Lucia: Review from a Travel Agent
St. Lucia has a new player in the luxury, adults-only market, and it’s one you need to know about. We visited St. Lucia for the first time October 2025. I was very excited to stay at this new Secrets. It was an existing property they purchased and renovated. Here’s my full review of Secrets St. Lucia!
Spoiler alert: the views alone are incredible. Dive into my full review to see everything this stunningly fresh resort has to offer.

Since the flight is connecting from DFW, we opted to fly into Miami the night before to break up the trip. Travel days are stressful enough, this helped a lot! We stayed in the Miami Airport Hotel for convenience. Nothing fancy, just a bed and shower. The hallways were giving scary movie vibes, if I’m being honest.

Coming home we connected in Miami, I allowed us 3 hours and I’m glad I did. We did not have much downtime. We breezed through passport control with Global Entry but then had to wait in line for security, there is no TSA pre-check line. I would not recommend this connection under 2 hours.
We booked a 6 night stay so we’d have 5 full days in destination. I might even consider a full 6 days for the next trip this far in the Caribbean. The temperatures in St. Lucia are warm year round. It was quite hot most days but the breeze helps a lot! And the sun hits different there.
Secrets St. Lucia
Secrets St. Lucia has 355 rooms, 24 hour room service, 9 restaurants and 6 lounges. The resort is about 90 minutes from the airport. We booked a private SUV transfer. There is a water taxi but the times offered did not line up with your flights. I also heard several guests say they did not like the water taxi, it took much longer than the drive. Secrets St. Lucia is a beautiful property!

In my opinion, the hotel isn’t very accessible friendly. There are no elevators in the buildings and it’s stairs and hills all over the property. They do offer golf cart rides but to me it would be very troublesome if you have mobility concerns.
What’s that saying…..uphill both ways!

The Resort
All of the spaces are open air, only two of the restaurants have air conditioning. Most of the time there was a wonderful ocean breeze.
They have a gym and they offer classes with a trainer. There’s pickleball and tennis courts. The spa has an outdoor hydrotherapy as well. It’s included with a spa treatment so make sure and ask about it! I didn’t use the gym while I was there but trust me I got my steps in! I did see the trainer on the beach hosting classes. He mentioned to me he likes to make people cry. No thank you.

This Secrets does have a relaxed dress code for dinner. The app states men have to wear long pants but they do not. I felt bad I told John to pack his long pants because Secrets is strict and they weren’t. Not sure if that will change but for now, shorts are ok for dinner, just look nice.
The Rooms at Secrets St. Lucia
We stayed in a Preferred Club Master Suite Ocean View. We mostly book Preferred Club at Secrets but it’s not always worth the upgrade. This time it was! They have a Preferred Club lounge, pool, restaurant and bar.

There’s a restaurant option for breakfast for Preferred Club guests, it was a favorite! The lounge is where you check in and out, they have concierge in there and a bar with snacks. The bar is open until 11PM.

They did a great job with storage in the rooms. The bathroom vanity has a drawer in it and I think this design should be mandatory.

This view from our room!

The Beach at Secrets St. Lucia
The beach was calm and somewhat protected, with perfect water temperature. You cannot walk a long ways though. There are a few Preferred Club cabanas and chairs but otherwise lots of open seating.

There’s a bar right on the beach. Beach bar service was a little slow going but after that seemed to get better.

The Pools at Secrets St. Lucia
There are two pools open to all guests and the Preferred Club pool open to only those guests. The two main pools were busy, but not over crowded during our stay. They have a swim up bar and lots of chairs and cabanas.

There was always music or games going on there. It’s located right by the buffet and Tapas restaurant which is convenient for lunch.
Preferred Club Pool at Secrets St. Lucia
We upgraded to Preferred Club for this trip and I’m glad we did. The amenities and service were worth it. We spent most of our time at the Preferred Club pool. It set up higher and has gorgeous views of the ocean!
There are 2 levels with chairs and umbrellas, plenty of seating. It never got crowded here.
Our first morning there it rained until about 1PM. We sat at the Preferred Club bar and tasted several drinks! (don’t judge)

The bar at the preferred club pool was awesome. Our favorite bar tender, Prescott, was fun and kept the drinks flowing. He has several “Prescott specials” but ask for one with Spiced Rum. They don’t offer food or food delivery to this pool and I was a little disappointed in that, but they did bring snacks about 2PM.

Entertainment at Secrets St. Lucia
We are pretty easy, we like good music and drinks at night or a good show sometimes. This Secrets has both. Most nights it was a DJ or live band, they also had a fire show one night. Monday night they had the NFL football game on followed by the silent disco. It’s a covered space which is great since it rained at least two nights there.

Food at Secrets St. Lucia
We’ve stayed at a lot of Secrets resorts, and many other brands in Mexico and the Caribbean. St. Lucia is different than Mexico, you can’t compare it. It’s hard though when you are used to a brand being a certain way and having a certain standard. We had a great trip and really not any major complaints but there are a few things they could improve on here. The food is one of them.
There are several standouts – Portofino, the Italian restaurant was very good and so was L’Creperie (the Tapas and Crepes restaurant).

Portofino
We ate at Portofino twice, which is unusual for us on vacation. I tried the stuffed chicken, braised short ribs and the penne. Everything was good!

Oceana, Preferred Club breakfast option
The other big standout was Oceana which is the Preferred Club breakfast option. It is not open to all guests at breakfast, only Preferred Club. I ate this frittata every morning.
Our other dinner favorite was Morgan’s Pier, it’s their French restaurant. I had a great French onion soup and beef bourguignon. Dessert was good and the service too! Their wine list pricing was good. We ended up with 3 bottles on this trip.
Morgan’s Pier
French Restaurant
We were disappointed in lunch options. Most resorts and specifically Secrets offer a grill at lunch that has pizza, nachos, burgers, fries, etc. It’s a great option and it’s what a lot of people prefer for lunch. A lot of resorts even offer this as a food delivery option. They had a grill some days but we never could catch it at the right time, they were out of food. The buffet had a good pasta station, but the pizza was not good at all. This should be one thing they get right! You could not get fries at lunch either.
Himitsu (Asian Restaurant)
We tried Himitsu (the Asian restaurant) for dinner. We prefer the a la carte most of the time. We were a little disappointed this trip. The appetizers and sushi was good but the entrees were not. I’m hoping they can improve on this.
You do need reservations to eat at the Hibachi table.

We had a great trip and I definitely recommend this resort for the right client. You need to be ok with long travel days though!
