To say this summer has been crazy is an understatement. We decided in late May to put our house on the market. It took about a month to get it ready. The dining room needed new floors and half the house needed to be packed up to stage it. We had way too much furniture in that house. It worked, the house sold in 2 days and we had about 30 days to get moved out.
The saga of finding us a new house began. That was an emotional roller coaster. We ended up moving in with my mother in law for 3 weeks. She’s a saint for taking us all in, including 2 dogs! At the beginning of August we put a contract on a house and got moved in within about 2 weeks. The mortgage company was on the ball. I’d say a good portion of our stuff is unpacked but there’s still so much to do.
I think I’m most excited about the kitchen. I actually don’t have enough stuff to fill up the cabinets. (yet) I don’t think the oven had ever been used, the sellers put in all new appliances. Let me tell you this oven does not play around, it cooks. My old oven would take twice as long to cook anything.
Ally and I do have a craft room, husband lovingly calls it the “crap room”. We are very excited to get settled in there. I’m thinking of painting it a fun color, like hot pink or something. I’ve been pinning every craft room idea I can find on Pinterest. This room is definitely not unpacked, I have lots to go through and find a place for it all.
John and I went and bought out Ikea. I thought he was gonna leave me. We had to take 2 cars. I love that place, but I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to convince him to go back. He has post traumatic stress from putting together all the pieces.
We are very excited and so looking forward to getting settled and making new memories here. I feel blessed and when I look back on the last 2 months I always knew there was a plan, but I finally see it.
Thanks to those that prayed for us, let me vent, cry or whatever was needed at the time.
