Marathon training is moving along. I liked this week’s weather a little better that last week. It started out at 12 degrees on Tuesday but Friday morning’s low was 59. Thursday we ran in foggy mist and I’m starting to like that weather. My best 2 runs lately have been in that weather.
Don’t forget about the discount code for Cowtown, it’s not too late to register, but it is getting full! Use CT14HMWR for $5 off your half, full or ultra distance.
Training this week:
Sunday: Rest day
Monday: Rest day
Tuesday: Gym day, 3 miles of treadmill intervals, light arm weights and sauna
Wednesday: 5 miles, 9:20 pace
Thursday: 5 miles, 9:03 pace (someone was chasing us!)
Friday: Rest day
Saturday: 13 miles, 9:20 pace. This run felt good.
And apparently I took a lot of rest days this week. OOPS! Normally I take 1-2 days but this week it was 3. It happens. Our training has gotten back into a good routine, we are on target for Cowtown. I’m excited but still nervous. I was so ready to cross that line in December, I will be more than ready come February!
My legs and knees have been a little achy and tired. Thinking about seeing my sport chiro this week. I made it all the way through the first 4.5 months of training without needing him, but it’s catching up.
Ally is about to start playing softball again and will start pitching lessons this weekend. She’s pretty excited and I like going to the games. It makes for a busy few months, but luckily marathon training will be done!
And I just had to share this picture of sweet Molly watching out the window for Ally to get off the bus Wednesday.
Don’t forget the Sweaty Bands giveaway is going on. You can find that here. Also, everything gets pinned to this board on Pinterest and on the January Jumpstart page on the blog. Don’t miss a thing!
