This weekend is the last weekend before school starts. We had meet the teacher yesterday. Ally is starting 6th grade and it’s still considered elementary here. Let me say I’m very, very glad it is. I can’t imagine my 11 (almost 12) year old walking the halls with 13 and 14 year old boys! Scares this momma just a little bit. So, we get to enjoy elementary one more year before heading off to Junior High. I want this year to go super slow.
She is our only child and the years have gone too fast. She is becoming an amazing young lady and I’m very proud of her!
We took Molly to the dog park Friday before heading out for last minute errands. I never thought to check her tennis shoes for school and of course they don’t fit, so we made a mad dash for shoes! Her back to school party is tonight, I’ll update you on that later in the week.
I just completed week 3 of marathon training. It feels weird to have tapered down the miles, but it makes sense. It’s getting us ready for what’s ahead!
So far, it’s going good. I’m a little tired, but I added a 3rd day mid-week of getting up at 4:30 AM so I guess it’s expected. I am still taking B12 every day, a multi-vitamin and I have reined in my eating.
I’m still not sure of a goal time yet for the full. (Other than to finish!) I have no idea what pace I’ll be able to keep on those 16-20 mile runs so I will have to wait to set my goal.
Training this week:
Sunday: Walked 4 miles
Monday: Rest day
Tuesday: Ran 5 miles, 9:45 pace
Wednesday: Ran 3 miles, 9:23 pace and weights at the gym
Thursday: Run/walk speed intervals, 9:31 pace
Friday: Rest day
Saturday: Ran 8 miles, 9:53 pace
Following Saturday’s 8 mile run, with a few hills mixed in!
I found this shirt at Old Navy this week and it spoke to me!
