In July I ran the Moms Run this Town Virtual Half Marathon, the Hot Mama Half. I ran the farthest distance in my chapter so I won a pair of Zensah compression calf sleeves in my favorite color, purple!
I wear mine during my long runs, usually anything 5 miles or longer. I haven’t tried them out for just recovery yet. When I first researched compression sleeves I didn’t know much about them, mostly wanted to make sure I didn’t have calf cramps, shin splints and varicose veins. I do have one vein not cooperating!
I have not had any calf cramps that I can recall and very little leg discomfort following long runs. My longest run to date is 13.1. I am in about week 8 of my 2nd half training and have been wearing my Zensah sleeves religiously. I wash and dry them at least 2 times a week, they have not lost their stretch, they still feel like they are “hugging” my legs. I don’t worry about them falling down, they don’t itch. I’m always worried about trying new running clothes/gear, you never know what crazy stuff will happen while you are running! Itchy shorts, socks that rub, sports bras that don’t stay in place. To me the sleeve is more comfortable and much easier to get on that a full knee length compression sock.
These Zensah sleeves have been great! I will be investing in a few more pairs of them.
